Brave New World Studio opened in 2024 specifically for rental purposes, which has since been supplemented by the fact that we also undertake our own productions in the field of video and photography, as thanks to the established relationships, a professional, demanding freelancer team has been established in the field of both video and photography. Music clips, short commercials, podcasts and countless photographic works have already been made in our studio.
The driving force of our studio is that it is prepared for car productions in all respects, both from a filming and photographic point of view.
The biggest advantage of the studio is that the majority of the equipment that can be considered and used here is already available and it is not necessary to rent or bring it here separately.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF THE STUDIO


The 90 m² workspace in the almost 200 m² single-space studio is a 9.5 x 9.5 m white vault, almost 5 metres high, infinite white holker with 45- degree radius at the edges and corners.

The entire vault can be evenly illuminated with 300 and 600 watt RGB LED panels. The available lighting technology can be found in the enclosed equipment list. The lighting kit includes a lightning control panel. Controls are on a common base, so your own lights can be integrated into the system. The two hazers and wind machine can be connected to the light desk but can also be used independently.

In the studio, all walls and surfaces are black, except for the wood. The floor of the working space can be fully and completely blacked out in all areas with fitted film curtains and roll-out black flooring. This makes it possible to stage performances and presentations with the available light and sound equipment.

A black truss suitable for mounting and refitting the lamps is suspended above the work area. The lighting height is between 5-6 meters.
For photographers, a motorised backdrop is also available at a higher height, allowing the deployment of 3.5 metre paper backdrops (black, white and green as standard), but even without the use of backdrops, the black or white workspace offers a wide range of creative possibilities.

The large studio space allows for the separation of background and foreground (subject) lighting, speeding up post-production digital processing and minimising the need for intervention. The same applies to depth of field.
The 16-bit camera allows images to be captured in more than 65,000 shades of colour per primary colour, so minimal post-processing is required for the final result.

In the studio, you can basically light and shoot what you want to see as the end result.
The studio has its own library of equipment, which allows for interior photography.
These are available for viewing during studio visits. Once the operational work is completed in the studio space, creators can retire to the 'creative corner' in the gallery where they can continue their work connected to large EIZO and Mac monitors.

A large free parking area is available in front of the studio for crew arrivals. You can also arrive by van, truck or lorry if necessary.
Inside the studio, L-shaped folding tables along the walls, lights and power supply allow crew members to work and eat.
Next to the work space, 3x40 Amps, 3 phase is available specifically just for working, which can be upgraded to 3x60 Amps if required. Power supply can also be separately led into the studio from an external unit.

The studio features a bar, a lounge with a gallery, cocktail tables, bar stools and a kitchen. In addition to two dressing rooms, there are 1 shower and 4 toilets. In addition, 4 proper make-up and hairdressing tables ensure a steady flow of work.

The studio can host professional and corporate events for up to 40 people. High-performance 3D projector and 3-meter screen and sound equipment are available. With 25 black chairs, the studio can be quickly transformed into an auditorium.
For catered events, the studio has extensive in-house facilities in the kitchen and bar area.

Where does the name of the studio come from?


The name finds its roots in Aldous Huxley's 1931 novel, "Brave New World." This dystopian masterpiece portrays a future society, New London, built upon a caste system (Alphas, Betas, Gammas), with the aim of maintaining a perceived perfect human society through controlled and monitored reproduction (Eugenics?). The maintenance of social order mainly relies on the use of soma tablets, which induce a complex effect, serving as stress-relievers, tranquilizers, and antidepressants all at once, and are compulsory to consume (there are both red and blue capsules).

Huxley derived the phrase "brave new world" from Shakespeare's play "The Tempest," where Miranda exclaims:

O wonder!
How many goodly creatures are there here!
How beauteous mankind is! O brave new world,
That has such people in 't.

Huxley, a world-renowned author, was likely influenced by his brother's work. His brother, Sir Julian Huxley, similarly held a significant position in British civic life. He had an astounding scientific career, serving as the president of the British Eugenics Society, founding the WWF (World Wildlife Foundation), and serving as the first director of UNESCO. His brother's work may have greatly influenced Aldous Huxley in crafting his world-famous novel.


As for the relevance of this to the studio?

The novel "Brave New World" reflects an era - the 1920s and '30s - characterized by immense advancements in both the humanities and the sciences. It was an age where the impossible seemed within reach. In America, this era saw the peak of Art Deco, a stylistic movement primarily manifesting in architecture, incorporating futuristic elements far ahead of its time (Empire State Building, Chrysler Building – New York). The cultural world of the 1930s is evoked by Ayn Rand's novel "The Fountainhead," but it also encompasses the essence of "The Great Gatsby." We can also mention a local example, such as the Árpád railcar in Hungary, which, in the context of railway transport at the time, represented a technical marvel pointing towards the future. People felt like they were living in the future.

This era marks the true beginning of the atomic age. In the 1930s, Leo Szilard and Enrico Fermi worked out how nuclear fission could lead to a chain reaction (Atomic Bomb). The world's greatest physicists - Albert Einstein, Werner Heisenberg, Niels Bohr, Erwin Schrödinger - contributed their scientific endeavors at this time. New discoveries were made one after another in the fields of natural and social sciences. It seemed (before the Second World War) that the planet and humanity were experiencing a golden age. This era was indeed a brave new world.

Brave New World Studio is designed to recreate the creative atmosphere that was characteristic of an entire era in the Western world. Our studio's explicit goal is to inspire every filmmaker and/or photographer working here to bring out their best and deliver the best to their clients.
We want to make tangible for our colleagues and guests the turbulence of the world in culture, art, and science, so that they feel capable of anything here, and that the work they do here is accompanied by heightened emotions that regularly draw them back to us. We believe that there is a place and time here in Hungary and Central Europe for such a creative workspace.

Our aim is to create a new creative world, a new symbolic space. With state-of-the-art technology and the atmosphere we create here, we aim to provide the perfect technical and environmental backdrop for professionals visiting here to create works of the highest quality. Through their work, they can create entirely new worlds for themselves, their clients, and the wider audience.

Within the walls of the studio, we aim to forsee the future. But it's also possible that this future is already here, and its name is:
